The Dangers of the Fake Finish Line

"I've finally got that new role I was pushing for... so why am I still feeling a bit empty inside?"

We've all been there - creating finish lines in our head in the hope that once we cross them the stresses and strains disappear, the grind eases and the path to happiness reveals itself. The problem is they aren't actually finish lines at all. It's called the 'arrival fallacy' and it ignores the fact that the real race is within. This is something I learnt the hard way. Despite 'ticking all the boxes' in my last global executive role, I felt increasingly disconnected from any sense of real progress. Here's the truth: forget the false promise of 'destinations' and learn to embrace the journey you're on. Be present in the moment and reframe the challenges you face as growth opportunities. It's not easy, but we're here to support your growth. Dare to know. Dare to Grow.
